Biography

Takis Moschos (1952 – 29 April 2019) was a Greek stage, film and television actor.

During his film career, Takis Moschos played many unconventional roles. For Greek standards, he was a "film actor" identified with revolutionary cinema. Together with actor Takis Spyridakis, he was the favorite collaborator of director Nikos Nikolaidis. In 1982, he took his first professional role in the film Angel by Giorgos Katakouzinos. A film that dealt with the issue of homosexuality in Greece, it caused a series of reactions even before it was shot and whose script was initially rejected by the Ministry of Culture. In 1983, his participation in Nikos Nikolaidis' film Sweet Gang, in the role of Argyris, created a sensation. The film won a total of ten awards. In 1985, his cinematic presence in the role of the poet Napoleon Lapathiotis in the film Meteor and Shadow was notable and Moschos won the Best Actor award. In the 1980s and 1990s, he took part in various theatrical performances throughout Greece, while also appearing in some television series. In July 2012, he participated in the performance of Sophocles' Antigone, at the Theater of the Ancient City of Epidaurus, as a member of the ASIPKA group in the role of Creon. His last theatrical appearance was in 2018, in the performance of the Kozani Municipal Theater of Romeo and Juliet, in the role of Father Lavrentios. In Skopelos, he had founded and directed a group of amateurs, the Skopelos Amateur Theater Group (ETHOS), with which he put on two performances a year and they toured there and the surrounding islands, like a pack.
