Matthew Johnson (born October 5, 1985) is a Canadian director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He has directed, co-wrote and starred in the filmsĀ The DirtiesĀ (2013),Ā Operation AvalancheĀ (2016),Ā BlackBerryĀ (2023),Ā Nirvanna the Band the Show the MovieĀ (2025) and Tony (2026).
Johnson began his career working in low-budgetĀ independentĀ docufiction productions. First, he attracted accolades forĀ The Dirties, which won Best Feature Narrative at theĀ Slamdance Film Festival.
