Biography

Tyyne Elina Haarla (o.s. Kosunen, November 2, 1892 Varkaus - November 18, 1968 Helsinki) was a Finnish actor.

Haarla graduated from the Theater School in 1910 and was attached to the Rural Theater, the Tampere Theater, the Folk Theater and the Finnish National Theater, where he performed over 130 roles in 1923-1960.

In addition to the theater career, he starred in more than 30 Finnish films, among others. In the Unrestrained Generation (1937), People in Summer Night (1948), Pastor in Jussi and Red Line. His son Saulo Haarla was also an actor. In the film Pastor Jussi Haarla played the mother of the pastor's wife, Eveliin, and in the film Hilman Days, Vekkula's wife.

Haarla was an actor at the Finnish National Theater in 1916–1958. He was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1948.

His wife was writer Lauri Haarla.
