Biography

Cai Rudolf Booi (born August 15, 2002) is a filmmaker, writer, producer, and creative director based in the Netherlands, with roots in Curaçao.

His work spans independent film and the development of larger fictional worlds, with a growing focus on stories designed to move between cinema, literature, comics, and other forms of visual storytelling.

Booi wrote, directed, and produced Operation Playground: Zero (2026), a short film developed as part of his broader work in narrative filmmaking. He is also part of the Groovy Movies Collective, a group of filmmakers connected through the Dutch Filmers Academy in Eindhoven. Through the collective, he has contributed to screenings, independent productions, and the 48 Hour Film Project.

His work on Bolle Piet (2024) included writing and graphic title design, with the latter receiving one of the film’s award-winning recognitions at the 48 Hour Film Project Eindhoven.

Beyond filmmaking, Booi is the Chief Creative Officer of EPIKAI, a developing intellectual property built around original fictional worlds, characters, and stories intended to grow across multiple forms of entertainment.

He is currently writing and directing PARAMANIA! and Mr. Sunflower, alongside other projects that remain in development.
