Biography

Ingrid Luterkort, born Carola Ingrid Margareta Eklundh, was a Swedish stage and screen actress, director, and drama pedagogue. She graduated from the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school in 1934, with her fellow classmates Ingrid Bergman, Gunnar Björnstrand and Signe Hasso. Her film debut was in Anders Henrikson's "Annonsera!"(1936) She became the first Swedish female theater director when she stage a production at Dramatikerstudion 1940. Ingrid Luterkort published her experiences of acting and teaching in the book "Skådespelarens utbildning/The Education of the Actor"(1976). In her second publication "Om age, Herr Molander!/ Again, Mr Molander!"(1998), deals with the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school and its development from 1784 to 1964.
